The center offers an informational catalog of relevant courses for students with an interest in the environmental humanities.

Please check the University catalog for descriptions and offerings: Courses@Brown is the place of record for all course information. Students pursuing an Environmental Science & Studies concentration at the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) should review the concentration’s ENVS curriculum guide for the roster of preapproved courses meeting the core Environmental History and Humanities requirement. Faculty can request additions and corrections to the CEHAB informational course catalog by submitting this form.

Search Tips:

  • Search “graduate” for 2000-level courses
  • Search “doctoral certificate” for courses counting toward the doctoral certificate in collaborative humanities.
  • Search “IBES curriculum” for courses that have met the core Environmental History and Humanities requirement of the Environmental Science & Studies concentration.
